Checks for your journal
Choose a journal profile and article type. Review applicable structure, word limits, declarations, and citation requirements—not an unexplained generic score.
Journal + article typeMEET JOURNALRIGHT Development preview
Journal-specific manuscript checks, inside Word. See what is present, find what needs attention, and go straight to the evidence.
A companion to RefRight. Separate accounts. Two focused tools.
MANUSCRIPT AT A GLANCE
Illustrative report. Counts vary by document; not a live scan.
MORE THAN A CHECKLIST
From the title page to the final reference, understand your manuscript through readable cards, counts, and evidence.
Choose a journal profile and article type. Review applicable structure, word limits, declarations, and citation requirements—not an unexplained generic score.
Journal + article typeSee authors, affiliations, abstract words, keywords, headings, and word-count scopes. Separate detected facts from things that need human confirmation.
Front matter + structureReconcile readable numeric and author–year citations with reference entries. Surface uncited entries, unresolved matches, and ambiguity.
Citations + reconciliationCount objects, captions, and in-text callouts separately. Find duplicate labels, uncited labelled items, and callouts without matching labels.
Figures + tables + equationsOpen the evidence behind a count. Use “Show in Word” to navigate to the relevant text or object where supported, with approximate positions clearly identified.
Evidence + navigationJournalRight checks your manuscript using deterministic parsing and journal-specific rules, not generative AI. Scanning does not edit your manuscript, send it to AI services, or use it to train AI models.
Read-only + local analysisA JOURNAL-SPECIFIC STARTING POINT
Begin with the generic original-research baseline, or explore a preview profile. Each check keeps its rule context and source visible.
Preview profiles are under development. JournalRight is independent of these publishers. Always consult the journal’s current author instructions.
FOR INSTITUTIONS, UNIVERSITIES & PUBLISHERS
Share your journal’s submission guidelines with us. We will add a journal-specific profile to JournalRight so your authors can check their manuscripts against your requirements, directly in Word.

GOOD TO KNOW
No. Manuscript scanning runs in the add-in on your device and is read-only. Sign-in and registration use the separate JournalRight account service; account information is sent separately.
No. These are structural and submission checks, not scientific peer review, editorial approval, or a guarantee of acceptance. Some requirements need human confirmation or separate submission files.
The report distinguishes zero detected items from “Not read” or “Partly read”. Floating objects, notes, and text boxes depend on what the host exposes. Headers, footers, and some object types are not scanned.
No. JournalRight requires its own email-verified account. Create your JournalRight account in the Word add-in and sign in before scanning.
Not automatically. Paid plans are planned for after the two-month free pilot. We will communicate transition details before paid access begins; subscribing requires your explicit consent.
